HerFuture Officially Launches: A New Era for Women in Tech
Built by women in tech, for women in tech, the new app empowers female students and young professionals in IT & STEM while helping companies fix their gender gap.
HerFuture’s official launch was celebrated at Slush, Europe's leading tech event, with the support of Dutch prince Constantijn van Oranje-Nassau and Dutch Ambassador to Finland Govert Jan Bijl de Vroe, both of whom engaged with the mission of HerFuture.
We had the privilege of representing the Netherlands at Slush, and HerFuture's official launch was further supported and encouraged by representatives of Netherlands Enterprise Agency, Up!Rotterdam, StartupAmsterdam, Up!Almere, ImpactCity The Hague, and 4TU. At Slush, we connected with industry leaders, government representatives, fellow founders and investors, sharing HerFuture’s mission to fix the IT & STEM gender gap.
HerFuture has achieved rapid growth since its launch, securing partnerships with major organizations such as Capgemini, FlowTraders, Booking.com, EY, KPMG, KPN, Shell, Sogeti, ING, Accenture, Quooker, Picnic, and Van Lanschot Kempen.
“Our mission is simple: to fix the gender gap,” said Micky and Linky Chen, founders of HerFuture. “We increase female representation in tech and engineering through unique events, job opportunities, career guidance, and the amplification of role models. Our approach combines representation with direct interaction to attract diverse talent and build an inclusive workforce.”
Despite high demand, companies often struggle to attract female talent, as a lack of visibility into workplace culture and female representation can make candidates feel they don’t belong. Currently, women make up less than 30% of the tech workforce. While the WHO estimates it could take 134 years to close the gender gap, HerFuture is determined to accelerate progress now. HerFuture shares the core values of sister company Minite, a data-driven student hiring platform now serving over 25,000 users.
